Tips for First Time Travelers

Traveling is fun and we deserve to travel for being a good employee, a good son or daughter, a good neighbor, or just by being good overall. The time will come that we will feel exhausted and it feels like we need to go somewhere to breathe. You will feel like you need to treat yourself and have a "Me Time" for all the hard work that you've done. Yes, I feel that, too!

I've been working since I graduated and after my 5th year as an employee, I decided to take a break. I decided to take a break without even planning what to do with the break that I want to have. So I resigned. It's really funny thinking about it now because it only shows how impulsive I am during that time. I know that I don't have enough savings at that time and I did not even think about that. Money never comes to mind. I just want to take a break. It's funny, right? It looks like I'm only taking my "Recess" at School, it's that simple. I thought it was just that simple. So I took a break and here I am after four years, still thinking about having a break.

My point is, that we will always feel exhausted and that's normal. Do you know why? Because we're not a robot. And because we're not a robot, we're fragile, we're vulnerable. So we stay in our comfort zone. It's limiting our capabilities. The only way to broaden our horizons is to take risks.

Traveling is fun and it comforts us when we need it. When we travel, we are trying to experience more and see more. It's like we're trying to widen our horizons, we want to see the bigger picture. By traveling, we are taking risks. Because seeing more, knowing more, and experiencing more have a lot of risks. That's why when we travel, we're using our Credit Cards to pay for the ticket because some Banks offer Travel Insurance when we use their credit cards. It's really helpful because there are some things that are inevitable like flight cancellations, missing baggage, and delayed flights to name a few. And because of those things, I believe that Travel Insurance is a must and I highly recommend getting one before you travel internationally. You'll rarely go out of the country so why not pay a few pesos for your safety and security, right?

Traveling is good but it's just a small fun in life. We do a lot of fun things in our lives and it means that there are also a lot of risks. However, there are no specific insurance plans for every risk that you will take like Travel Insurance for your Travels but there's one thing that is really important that covers everything, "LIFE INSURANCE." Yes, it sounds cliche but it's the truth that most of us ignore. We never pay attention to this kind of thing because we grew up in a third-world country where not having an insurance policy is a normal thing. Well, I also think that way at least when I was in my early 20s but I now believe that having an insurance policy now is the new normal.

Everything changed when I decided that I want to travel. It was 2018 when I decided that I want to see the world. I already had an idea of where I wanted to go and what I want to eat. I also liked the idea of vlogging. While planning my trips, it also opened my eyes. I realized how much I need to execute my plans, and then I realized that there are also some important things that I need to do before I travel. During that time, I was imagining that my parents will be happy and proud of me because I was able to go to other countries. I was imagining that they'll be happy while looking at my Facebook or Instagram photos.

At that moment, I imagined their faces smiling while looking at my pictures. Then I quickly realized that what if they're smiling while looking at my pictures because they can only see me through pictures because something unexpected happened to me while traveling? I'm an only child and I haven't done a lot for them yet. It's not my responsibility but it's what I love to do. I want to do something for them. That's when I realized that yes, I deserve a break, I deserve to have fun, but I also need to be RESPONSIBLE while doing what I like because I have people who love me that will be happy when I'm happy and will be sad when I'm not.

So, I traveled after a year. Yes, it took me one year to execute my plan. Why? Because I decided to have Life and Health Insurance with Investment first. Yes, I already have a one-year-old policy before I traveled to Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia last 2019. My Life Insurance did not stop me there, I still get Travel Insurance a week before I leave for Thailand as an additional Insurance. I just want to make sure that my parents will be taken care of and will be able to travel using the Insurance Money if something happened to me. Taking my parents with me around the world is also on my bucket list, that's the GOAL. #jezzdoit Around the World with my Parents. I know I deserve every fun that I want and the experiences that I want to experience. But my Parents also deserve my LOVE. It's okay to take care of yourself because you deserve that. But be responsible enough to take care of those who will worry about you while having fun and taking risks. They are an extension of our bodies and a part of our lives so taking care of ourselves means taking care of them, too. Our lives are our responsibility. Let's take care of ourselves by having Life and Health Insurance. Then we can have a Worry-Free Travel.
